According to nutritionist, we consume twice as much sugaes as we should. Sugar that is not burned up goes towards the lipocytes, our energy reserve cells which are in the hypodermis. Once inside the lipocyte, the glucose mixes with free fatty acids that have been carried by blood circulation. They therefore form fat reserves which blow up the size of the lipocytes.

The visible result: your thigh increases in circumference.

More than 70% of the sugar we eat is in fact “hidden”: tinned peas, vacuum packed ham, baked beans. Even “sugar-free” products actually contain sugar. Sugar-free fruit yoghurts for example, contain saccharin, which comes from fruit.

The average glucide requirement is between 250 and 300g per day. This quantity should be respected by calculating the proportion of sugar that each food type contains:

- Almost 0% in eggs, meat and fish
- 5% sugar in natural dairy products and green vegetables
- 10% in carrots, artichokes, beetroot and fresh fruit
- 20% in feculent fruit and vegetables (bananas, potatoes…)
- 55% - 70% in bread and plain cereals
- more than 70% in biscuits, pasta, rice, semolina and flour
