Drinking ice water rather water at room temperature have been told to me as some weight loss thingy. The theory behind is that when u drink ice water ur body's temperature decrease and hence need to burn more calories to bring the body temperature up.
Someone did some maths
Found out that drinking a glass of ice water burns around 8 calories. 435 8-ounce glasses of ice water to lose a pound.
But when you drink that much of water there is a risk of water intoxication can cause death one can?!
Happily loose 1 pound then die.
But some dudes did loose weight
"It can also trigger diabetes. My dad started drinking tons of ice water to lose weight, and dropped like 30 pounds in a month. Turns out he was diabetic, and his blood sugar was totally out of control. His endocrinologist said she knew of several people who had discovered they were diabetic that way--apparently it messes with your glucose metabolism. "
I think i'll still opt for ice water, like 5 glasses a day means 40 calories better then nothing.
